Excited for Rise of the Tomb Kings? The final Warhammer Online live expansion event won’t go live until next Tuesday, but you can still get the patch pre-downloaded and ready.
Massively is reporting that the patch required to access the new content is available for download, and contains the “bulk of the update.” On the appropriate day, the update will automatically kick into gear, and you’ll be able to see the Tomb Kings dungeon for yourself.
At the moment, this only applies to North American and Oceanic fans, but Europe should be getting their patch “early next week.”

The PSPgo is getting rid of the handheld’s UMD drive in favor of digital distribution, but according to a new rumor, that digital distribution could extend beyond standard retail games. Destructoid reports that “sources close to game development” have told them Sony is planning to reveal an app store for the PSPgo at Games Con, set to take place in Germany in August.
According to these sources, Sony is encouraging developers to create “small, non-retail” games and applications that would sell through an updated PlayStation Store at significantly lower prices than full retail games. Sources say Sony is considering a tiered pricing model, with content priced somewhere between and , and with developers having the option to release free applications as well.
File sizes for these smaller games and apps will be limited to 100MB, but otherwise, developers will have free reign to create what they want. Apparently, Sony specifically encouraged the creation of “non-game apps” and 2D titles. Lastly, Sony reportedly said this app store could be available by the fourth quarter of the fiscal year.

In addition to the titular DJ controls in DJ Hero, the game will also allow for a second player to join in on guitar as well. So does that mean the Guitar Hero team at Neversoft will return the favor and include turntable controls in future Guitar Hero games? According to Guitar Hero director Brian Bright, it looks like the answer is yes.
“We’ve worked with [DJ Hero creator FreeStyleGames], talked to them about the game for a couple of years now, looked at different builds and played it,” said Bright to Eurogamer. “We would love to integrate in the future.”
We won’t see turntable controls in the upcoming Guitar Hero 5, though, but only because of a conflict of release dates. “Unfortunately for Guitar Hero 5, we ship a few months before they do,” Bright explained. “[But] we’d love to explore instrument compatibility in the future; we’ll see where it goes.” On top of that, DJ Hero producer Kevin McSherry also suggested that drums could be added to DJ Hero as well, saying that, “We’re open to what the future might bring.”

According to an ESRB rating dug up by One Last Continue (via Kotaku), it looks like Yasumi Matsuno’s original Final Fantasy Tactics is bound for a re-release on the PlayStation 3 through the PlayStation Network.
As you can see above, the game has indeed been rated for the PlayStation 3, which seems to put it next in line for a PSN release following Final Fantasy VII. While the series lived on with the Tactics Advance games, many still consider Matsuno’s original as the best… even if the original PlayStation version did have a translation so abysmal it made the story nearly incomprehensible.
Of course, a PSP version of the game called Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions was released just two years ago, with a completely redone translation. But hey, it never hurts to give gamers more options to play a great title, does it?

Sure, you and I can beat the original Super Mario Bros. on one life in under 6 minutes (well, maybe you can, anyway…). But with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Nintendo wants your mom and dad and non-gaming friends in on the fun, too — and they have a plan to make sure the difficulty doesn’t get too overwhelming. Speaking to USA Today (via Joystiq), Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first Wii game to have what’s tentatively being called the “demo play” feature: In tough portions, a player can literally let the game play itself, and then jump back in when they feel comfortable once again assuming control.
“In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if a player is experiencing an area of difficulty, this will allow them to clear troubled areas and take over when they’re ready,” said Miyamoto through a translator. “And yes, we’re looking into this for future games, too.”
You might recall this feature first showed up in a patent filed by Miyamoto back in January. According to the description in that patent, there was to be three different modes to this “demo play” option: One that lets a video walkthrough play in the corner but not interrupt gameplay; one that would stop gameplay for a full-screen walkthrough, and players could jump into the walkthrough and take control; and one that would allow players to choose where in the game to start, similar to the scene selection of a DVD.

It reads like so many rhythm/music game releases in the past — the ubiquitous track list leak. The Beatles: Rock Band is still a few months off from its September 9 release date but Ripten has gotten its hands on a leaked list of the possible tracks from the game (found after the break).
The list does include the three tracks we checked out in our hands-on with the game at E3, though it also looks an awful lot like a list of Beatles singles across their career. Ripten notes that the ten tracks found in the glorious opening to the game are all included in its leaked list — and it is approximately the same amount of tracks we know the game will be shipping with — though we’ve yet to receive any official confirmation or denial from MTV Games, Harmonix, or EA.
Update: A Harmonix spokesperson has confirmed to us that this leaked list of songs is definitely not the track list for The Beatles: Rock Band, saying, “The rumored ‘leaked’ list is not the disc track listing for The Beatles: Rock Band. We’ll be announcing more tracks throughout the summer. Stay tuned to thebeatlesrockband.com for the most up to date information about disc songs and downloadable content!”
