Go Nintendo posted: Man, I was going along just fine…and then my internet died! I was busy typing up an ‘EoD’ thought on my iPhone, and just as I finished it, the net came back. Quite a frustrating way to end the night, but at least all ended well! You guys enjoy the rest of your night/morning, and I’ll catch you in a few, short hours. This week brought a pretty interesting bit of information pertaining to Netflix. We know that the Wii is finally going to see the service made available, and plenty of people are excited about that. It may be the last console to g...

Go Nintendo posted: Did you know that Logorama took home an Oscar for best animated short? We actually featured Logorama on the site, as it included a few nods to game industry developers/publishers. Now the creators of Logorama, Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy, have signed on to put together a 20 minute short for the Ghost Recon series, which will promote Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. This particular short is going to serve as a prequel to the game, and it’s costing Ubisoft upwards of $10 million. I guess Oscar winners don’t come cheap! Link Go to Source ...

Go Nintendo posted: “THQ went through a lot of pain and restructuring - they took a lot of bullets so we could continue to make our game, and that’s a good indication of their faith in us, and their drive to make great-quality products.” - David Adams, Vigil Games THQ seems to be doing a lot of things right lately, and their business is heading in a good direction. Perhaps I shouldn’t jinx them. I remember saying that things were going well for Majesco, and now they’re in danger of NASDAQ delisting once again. Link Go to Source ...

The guys at GameSpy have put up a fun article that asks you to figure out what 8-bit sprites they are showing. Don’t worry, the sprites come with a little blurb as well, just incase you weren’t around during the 8-bit days.

A portion of an NY Times review…

In all, Wii Sports Resort is destined to keep far too many people indoors over the rest of this summer. I can’t say I’ll blame them.

We told you that Euro Club Nintendo users can grab the official soundtrack for NyxQuest, but at the link below you can at least have a listen on your own. It’ll be a nice preview for when the game finally hits North America!

daft punk

We heard this rumor a long time ago, but now the gang at Gamekyo are saying that Daft Punk will indeed be included in DJ Hero. I should hope that they’d be in the final game, as I don’t think the game would be doing DJ just justice if Daft Punk wasn’t included!

A portion of a Dtoid interview with Nintendo’s Bill Trinen…

D: So were you worried that, because it only comes with one [MotionPlus], that you were segmenting the market? Because it’s meant to be a party game, but it only comes with one, and people will have to go out and get more [if they want to play with others]?

BT: Well, I think — especially for us — the thing about something like a new accessory, whether it’s Wii MotionPlus or any of the other accessories we’ve done, it’s really, “Is the gameplay experience compelling enough to give that accessory a reason to exist?” And in the case of Wii Fit and the Balance Board, I think that was obviously the case.

With Wii MotionPlus, we’re seeing Tiger Woods [PGA Tour 10] was a very, very well-executed game [that] takes great advantage of Wii MotionPlus. It’s already got a pretty good install base for us out there in advance of the launch of Wii Sports Resort. So I think already, there are audiences that feel that Wii MotionPlus clearly brings something new to the table, [that it] creates something new that you can’t have anywhere else. And I think that, as long as that’s the case, that people are going to — if they feel there’s value in that experience — that they won’t hesitate to pick up a second one.
