Some Wii features from 1up: The Kane and Lynch movie has had its Kane for quite a while in Bruce Willis, and now it's found its Lynch. Screenwriter Kyle Ward tweeted last night that Jamie Foxx is in as the psychologically unbalanced mercenary James Lynch. He had to clarify that he wasn't referencing the movie based on Uncharted that he's also writing, after one user jokingly asked about "a black Nate Drake." We previously reported that producer Adrian Askarieh was impressed by Bruce Willis' enthusiasm for the script. "He...

Some Wii features from 1up: Between the first Sonic the Hedgehog reboot, Golden Axe: Beast Rider and other less than stellar titles, Sega's original IPs have taken a bit of a beating. No more though, the publisher said in a recent interview with Computer and Video Games. "It's important that our old IPs are respected, [and] we need to deliver a good product," said Sega's Mike Hayes. "And in some instances we have done that - look back at when we re-did Sega Rally. It scored well and was moderately successful commercially...

Some Wii features from 1up: At GDC last week, En Masse was showing off its first MMO localization effort, Tera. Those who attended the show floor might have had trouble spotting the booth from amongst the slew of other Asian-market game artwork displayed though; Tera's art style is distinctly Korean -- especially obvious if you're familiar with the likes of Lineage II -- with its long-limbed light and dark elves, and strange rock-like armor covering little-to-no body parts with protruding bits in all the most useless places...

Some Wii features from 1up: Posthumous Cult Gaming How fans keep the memory of cult favorites alive. By Bob Mackey The modern mainstream gaming press is a fickle beast. Sure, some titles will often draw months (or years) of attention from hungry and enthusiastic journalists, but the week after release, it's, "So long, and call us when you get a sequel." And, aside from the odd retrospective, current trends in coverage dictate that games existing outside this small window of time deserve no attention until the point that they're "clas...

Another all guy show this time around. I actually think it’s one of our funnier shows, with the added bonus of my localization freak-out during the questions section. It feels good to finally let loose!

P.S. – I saw that some of you were upset by last week’s animated GIF. It was never my intention to upset any of you. I honestly thought the GIF was topical and light-hearted. If I knew that it would offend, I wouldn’t have posted. Please accept my apology, alongside this new MJ GIF.

Download the show here (it’s a thriller…I mean it this time!)

A study published in the May issue of the journal Psychological Science found that nearly 1 in 10 youths who play video games behaved in ways that were similar to other addictive disorders, such as compulsive gambling. These behaviors include skipping chores, lying to parents and even stealing money to support their gaming habits. – Fox News

Oh my god, I can’t believe this! Kids are not doing their chores, and then lying to their parents?! These damn video games are ruining our children! I remember the days before video games. Kids would never lie, skip out on chores, or steal anything! Thanks for creating evil children, game industry!

Shiren the Wanderer 3 is coming to North America, but we have no word on Shiren the Wanderer 2 DS ever coming here. With the non-existent reaction for the first Shiren the Wanderer on DS, I doubt we’ll ever see it. If you’re dying for that Shiren fix, you can always go the fan route by picking up the Japanese retail version, and then getting the fan-translation that has finally hit Alpha phase. Remember, want want you to enjoy the game, but we want it done legally! Details at the link below.

Now we get the WFC logo. I am actually pretty interested to hear the extent of Spectrobes: Origins’ online functionality. I’m guessing it won’t be full-fledged play, but some sort of trading/shopping element. Anyone else really pumped up for this game? Thanks to Hero of Legend for the heads up.

I can’t decide what the best part about Muramasa: The Demon Blade is. Could it be the beautiful hand-drawn art that makes my heart flutter? Perhaps it’s the hack-and-slash gameplay that makes my main muscle go pitter-patter. Then again, maybe I’m just in love with the fact that we’re getting a brand-new 2d game on a console. There’s just so much to love about Muramasa…it’s doing old-school with a new twist.
