Go Nintendo posted: Man, I was going along just fine…and then my internet died! I was busy typing up an ‘EoD’ thought on my iPhone, and just as I finished it, the net came back. Quite a frustrating way to end the night, but at least all ended well! You guys enjoy the rest of your night/morning, and I’ll catch you in a few, short hours. This week brought a pretty interesting bit of information pertaining to Netflix. We know that the Wii is finally going to see the service made available, and plenty of people are excited about that. It may be the last console to g...

Go Nintendo posted: Did you know that Logorama took home an Oscar for best animated short? We actually featured Logorama on the site, as it included a few nods to game industry developers/publishers. Now the creators of Logorama, Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy, have signed on to put together a 20 minute short for the Ghost Recon series, which will promote Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. This particular short is going to serve as a prequel to the game, and it’s costing Ubisoft upwards of $10 million. I guess Oscar winners don’t come cheap! Link Go to Source ...

Go Nintendo posted: “THQ went through a lot of pain and restructuring - they took a lot of bullets so we could continue to make our game, and that’s a good indication of their faith in us, and their drive to make great-quality products.” - David Adams, Vigil Games THQ seems to be doing a lot of things right lately, and their business is heading in a good direction. Perhaps I shouldn’t jinx them. I remember saying that things were going well for Majesco, and now they’re in danger of NASDAQ delisting once again. Link Go to Source ...

Sebastian M., 12, of Los Angeles, (center) joins other video game fans to dig for ‘Vivosaur’ puzzle pieces at the La Brea Tar Pits, Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Los Angeles. The puzzle pieces represent dinosaur-like fossils from the new Fossil Fighters game for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi video game systems, where players unearth, clean and do battle with more than 100 unique fossilized creatures based on real dinosaurs. The new game launches on August 10, 2009. (Photo by Nintendo, Bob Riha, Jr.)

And all of a sudden, it’s August. Wallace & Gromit’s run on PC has wrapped up, and we’re back to releasing episodes for one game at a time for the foreseeable future. The current season, of course, is Tales of Monkey Island, one episode deep in a five-chapter run at present. Because the first chapter, “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal” was released in July, and it is no longer that month, we’ve been getting a steady stream of folks asking us (with a mixture of disarming emoticons and well-intentioned threats) when the next chapter is due for release.

Well, wonder no longer: Chapter Two of Tales of Monkey Island, “The Siege of Spinner Cay” will be available for PC on August 20 (Pacific Time)!

I wonder if this means that Wii owners will be able to get their hands on the WiiWare version shortly thereafter. The 20th is a Thursday…so could we see it on the 24th?

Multitasking

I can’t think of any better way for gaming to prepare you for success at your job. What job doesn’t require multitasking from time to time?! I could use some better multitasking skills right now, but I’m too busy doing work and thinking about games!

A portion of an NWR review…

Roogoo Twisted Towers is a solid puzzler that might garner some fans thanks to its compelling gameplay concepts and interesting character designs. Unfortunately, its sometimes overcomplicated gameplay causes it to fall short of greatness.

The Nintendo trademark listing for ‘Super Mario Collection’ has gotten quite the reaction around the internet. No one really knows what the listing means, but the buzz seems to be that this could very well be another collection of Mario games in the same style as Super Mario All-Stars. If that’s the way things go…what games would you want to see included?
