A Preview of Microsoft Working on Smaller Xbox 360? from 1up: Sony's PlayStation 3 may hold the title for heaviest console of all time, but with last year's release of the slimline PS3, the Xbox 360 suddenly doesn't look so trim. Microsoft might have plans to rectify that, however, as Chinese tipsters have posted images of what they allege is a compact, redesigned version of the Xbox 360 hardware. Kotaku spotted the original forum post containing the supposedly leaked images. According to that thread, prototypes of the ...

A Preview of Over 2 Million Just Cause 2 Demo Downloads from 1up: In addition to releasing yet another ridiculous stunt video for Just Cause 2, publisher Square Enix has also revealed a bunch of statistics about the Just Cause 2 demo that's been making the rounds over the last two weeks or so. Included on the demo's stats sheet: over 2 million downloads. Impressive as that number may be, the rest of the data Square cataloged is even more stupefying. Did you know, for instance, that demo players have exterminated a cumul...

A Preview of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days Scheduled for August 24 Release from 1up: Got a soft spot in your heart (or maybe your head) for Kane and Lynch? It looks like you're going to have to wait just a bit longer for the sequel. Publisher Square Enix just announced Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for an August 24 release in North America. The follow-up to Eidos' controversial 2007 game pits the titular protagonists against Shanghai's underground crime lords. It also sports an entirely new, YouTube-inspired visual style, whi...

A Preview of Fils-Aime Prods Sony's Hopes for a Move Migration from 1up: Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is skeptical of Sony's hope to make the Move an appealing proposition for Wii owners. In an Industry Gamers interview, he addresses users who might be tempted to get the Move based on it looking like a hi-def Wii. "So I'm a consumer and I'm having a great experience with my Wii," Fils-Aime said. "And we know that's the case - we look at the software that's being purchased. Consumers love the Wii. What'...

“We really took a different path than the next-gen [version]. For us the priority was first to use all of the interactivity that was given to us on the Wii. Our two objectives were to create this unique feeling of being a hunter in the environment and to push the graphics of the Wii as much as possible. But at the same time we really wanted to emphasise the social side of being on the Nintendo Wii.” – producer Noel Kechichian

Twisted Pixel has said that they aren’t tied to any platform, and some of their current games may come to Wii. Right now they’re working on Comic Jumper, a game that they say is about a year away. In the teaser trailer, there’s nary a mention of platforms. Could this be their first project for Wii?
