A portion of a GameSpot interview with Sega’s Ken Ballough…
GS: Why did Sega decide to bring Sonic back to 2D? Did the success of Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure play a part?
KB: Old-school Sonic fans have long asked to see Sonic return to a more 2D style of gameplay. Many liked the daytime stages in Unleashed, but wanted to see a game that plays purely similar to the early games of the Genesis. Project Needlemouse is that critical first step that brings Sonic back to his 2D roots.
GS: What can you tell us about the game?
KB: I can tell you it’s a brand new 2D adventure coming out in 2010, it’s in HD, and to definitely stay tuned.
GS: With HD makeovers of classic games being popular right now, can we expect the game to use chunky old school sprites or hi-res HD sprites?
KB: You can definitely expect HD graphics.
SEGA is yet to identify what consoles this game is coming to. Check out the full interview here

A portion of a ZConnect interview with Frontier’s David Braben…
Q. Is there any particular reason you opted to develop the sequel for WiiWare as well, instead of developing it as a retail game?
DB: The distinction between WiiWare and high street retail sales is really just one of how it is distributed. Some game types need to be disc-based, simply because of the size of their data set, others do not need to be. Selling through WiiWare is a much more straightforward, purer process than distributing physical disc boxes to the dozens of different territories LostWinds has sold to already, and so is much more practical for a company like Frontier, but this does not mean you should think less of a game as a result.
Q. What do you think of the MotionPlus accessory? Will there be any MotionPlus enhancements in Winter of the Melodias?
DB; MotionPlus is great for games that can benefit from the extra precision, like sports for example, but doesn’t really change the use of the Wii Remote for pointing. The gameplay we offer mainly relies on pointing at the screen, so there isn’t anything in Winter of the Melodias that needs MotionPlus.

A portion of a Nintendo Now review…
Cursed Mountain intrigued me, but the game is too inconsistent for me to recommend to anyone except for the ardent horror fans. They’ll enjoy the game because it is a more low-key action game dependent more on exploration and wits rather than blowing everything apart with a shotgun.

Check out this strange Craigslist post…
One brand new copy of “Wii Tennis” for sale. I am asking dollars for it – email me if you want to buy it.
Who’s willing to either contact this seller, or bite the bullet and see what game you get?! Thanks to Kaminari1 for the heads up!

The only thoughts I’ve had about The Beatles: Rock Band are how bad I want to play this game! I can’t wait to pick up my copy tomorrow! I just hope I can get together some of the Rock Band back together. I think The Beatles music should be able to pull in a whole new crowd of Rock Band fans. Whether they can actually play the game remains to be seen!
