Go Nintendo posted: Man, I was going along just fine…and then my internet died! I was busy typing up an ‘EoD’ thought on my iPhone, and just as I finished it, the net came back. Quite a frustrating way to end the night, but at least all ended well! You guys enjoy the rest of your night/morning, and I’ll catch you in a few, short hours. This week brought a pretty interesting bit of information pertaining to Netflix. We know that the Wii is finally going to see the service made available, and plenty of people are excited about that. It may be the last console to g...

Go Nintendo posted: Did you know that Logorama took home an Oscar for best animated short? We actually featured Logorama on the site, as it included a few nods to game industry developers/publishers. Now the creators of Logorama, Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy, have signed on to put together a 20 minute short for the Ghost Recon series, which will promote Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. This particular short is going to serve as a prequel to the game, and it’s costing Ubisoft upwards of $10 million. I guess Oscar winners don’t come cheap! Link Go to Source ...

Go Nintendo posted: “THQ went through a lot of pain and restructuring - they took a lot of bullets so we could continue to make our game, and that’s a good indication of their faith in us, and their drive to make great-quality products.” - David Adams, Vigil Games THQ seems to be doing a lot of things right lately, and their business is heading in a good direction. Perhaps I shouldn’t jinx them. I remember saying that things were going well for Majesco, and now they’re in danger of NASDAQ delisting once again. Link Go to Source ...

A portion of an NWR interview with David Braben…

NWR: The length of LostWinds was a frequent criticism of the first game. Do you expect LostWinds 2 to be longer than the first game?

DB: The game isn’t quite finished yet. We’re certainly expecting it to be longer, but we don’t want to put a figure on it just yet.

It’s very funny actually, the length comment. It does sometimes annoy me, as when I was working on the first LostWinds I was playing a Call of Duty game, and it was an absolutely excellent game, but it only took me 5 hours to finish. And that’s a bit more expensive than we are.

Looking at the forums about the first game, there’s around the same number of people who say it’s too short as those saying they didn’t finish it.

Do you have a feeling deep inside that only Zelda games can satisfy? Afraid you’re going to rip your hair out while waiting for Spirit Tracks to get here? Well you’re going to have to settle for the next best thing, and that happens to be a collection of Zelda clones. Sure, these may not be the real thing, but there should be enough familiar elements to tide you over until you’re riding that Phantom Choo-Choo.

What a strange statement for Reggie to make about Kid Icarus. When naming titles that Nintendo does…would you really consider Kid Icarus one of them? They haven’t done ‘Kid Icarus’ in years! Sure they worked with Pit in Brawl, but that’s all we know of his return right now. Other than that, there have been endless rumors. Could this be a slight nod from Reggie?

“We’ve put a lot of extra effort into the gameplay. The key thing what we’ve been trying to do is to move forward, where we’ve got all the abilities from the previous game still there, and we’ve added to them.” – David Braben, Frontier

It’s good to know that all the moves from teh first game will be back. Having those on top of the new elements we’ve been learning about should make for a richer experience the second time around.

A portion of a Joystiq interview with Inifinity Ward studio head Vince Zampella…

J: The Wii is obviously not a graphics horse like the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game’s going to be ported down and look different and not as good on the Wii, and people are going to say, “Wait, this is Modern Warfare?” It might be some people’s first introduction to the game. Are you guys worried about that?

VZ: At this point, the way we look at it is there are people that don’t have anything but the Wii, and it is great for them to get that experience; to experience the game. At the same time, yes, there is always that worry that you created this thing that you put two years of your blood, sweat, and tears into. You want people to see it in the best possible light. And that is why … well you know. It is Modern Warfare 1. It has been long enough that people can see it. They can see, “Wow. We think this is good.”

Way back in 2006 Streamline Studios and Virtual Toys announced Hoopworld for Xbox Live Arcade – a game that melds Power Stone with the sport of Basketball. After that everything went quiet, and nearly 3 years later the game hasn’t been heard of for years.

But now according to the European WiiWare release schedule the game is back on, and has changed platforms.

It looked good on the Xbox Live Arcade, but who knows where the game is now 3 years later. What I find funny is that the developer was interviewed years ago grumbling about the XBLA’s 50MB file size limit that was implemented at the time, and now it’s here on WiiWare. It is to laugh.

Akaoni Studios have revealed a new trailer for Zombie Panic In Wonderland for the WiiWare Summit in Europe.

“A young hero gets involved in the attack of a sudden worldwide explosion of zombies. To save his friends from the “amorous zombies’” spell, machine gun in hand, he will have to solve the mystery of the “scented dwarves” and destroy the evil power hidden in the castle of the most northern city in Zombie Panic in Wonderland…”

The game is set to be released in December. It’s looking quite good so far, I just hope the shooting action doesn’t get boring too quickly.
