A feature on Mario's Super Inferno (Super Mario Galaxy 2) from Games Radar: Screw the haters! The Dante's Inferno Super Bowl ad was the greatest marketing move of all time. Of course, most of that had to do with the sweet serenade provided by Soul Deity, Bill Withers! So why the hell wouldn’t it work for Mario? ... Go to Source ...

A feature on Gaming's famous moustached men: shaved (Super Mario Galaxy) from Games Radar: What links all great men through history? The insatiable pursuit of power? An unwillingness to compromise? Snappy dress sense? Nah, it’s a good old tache, of course. Inspired by the recent clean shaven antics of Final Fantasy big cheese Hironobu Sakaguchi and Adolf Hitler, we’ve decided to shave the soup strainers off some of our favourite games characters.Warning: the following images may shock and appal ... A feature on Zelda cosplay goes high fashion (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Virtual Console) from Games Radar: Sometimes cosplay can be embarassing and degrading to the person involved. Thcostume is a pale imitation, their 'helmet' is made out of tinfoil and teaspoons, their make up drawn on by a blindfolded gibbon. But not always. Some cosplay is incredible. It's like a game character has crawled out of the TV screen and inhabited the REAL WORLD.  Like this downright classy, high-fashion Zelda cosplay... ... Go to Source ...

A feature on TV ads that steal from games (Super Mario Galaxy) from Games Radar: So there we are on a Tuesday evening, watching the TV, when the commercial break comes on. Advert for Insurance. Advert for baby milk. Advert for some shit movie we're never going to watch. Advert for cheaper gas. Advert for... hang on a sec. That advert for gas was a rip off of the Super Mario Galaxy planets! That's what started it off. And now we've spotted a bunch of other ads which robbed from games. ... Go to Source ...

Yet another developer looks down upon the Wii

Recently Develop had an interview with Infinity Ward about their newest game that is about to release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This is a sequel to an immensely popular game (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) that sold well and scored critically well, and until recently, was absent on the Wii. With the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex, Treyarch will be porting CoD:Modern Warfare to Wii owners. In their interview Develop asked Infinity Ward if they would ever develop the Wii version for CoD:Modern Warfare 2. How they responded may not be exciting news for Wii owners.

The question was posed to Infinity Ward, “What needs to happen before you consider [developing for] Wii,” and their response was an interesting one. Infinity Ward said, “If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform. Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing.” While Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling was very careful about wording it as not to say ‘the Wii can’t handle our game’, it certainly seems to be what he’s saying.

This is reminiscent of other video game powerhouses snubbing the Wii for similar reasons. When asked if Resident Evil 5 would find its way onto the Wii, one of the game’s producers, Masachika Kawata, said the Wii couldn’t even handle the game’s loading screen. Then of course there was Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein who didn’t feel it was economically feasible to develop for the Wii, because ” unless you’re going to sell your engine to Nintendo, you’re going for scraps on that platform.”

Now nobody is making the argument that the Wii can go toe-to-toe with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 from a graphical standpoint, but does that really mean it lacks the potential for a “cinematic experience?”
