When Tiger Woods’s extra-marital issues first started making news, EA Sports was one of Woods’s sponsors to stick by the golfer from the get-go. But somehow, we have a feeling their next Tiger Woods game won’t have much resemblance to the vision of the future South Park presented earlier this week.
As you can see in the clip above (which we warn you is, unlike the television airing, completely bleep-free and packed with NSFW language), South Park started its new season this week with their unique reenactment of the fateful night that started the Tiger Woods saga, and they give it a uniquely gamer-spin to boot. The episode revisited this version of “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11″ throughout the story, and you can see another (also very NSFW!) clip featuring the dreaded “Pre-Nup Power Up” below.
The real Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, meanwhile, will be released on June 8. And will probably be far less violent.

The latest issue of GamePro has a juicy reveal for fans of Marvel’s webhead right on its cover: Evidently, the next Spider-Man game out of Activision will be called Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
Probably more details will be found inside the issue, but right now all we know is the title of this still-unannounced game on the mag’s cover (via MTV Multiplayer). Activision CEO Bobby Kotick recently made news by stating their past Spider-Man games “sucked,” saying that a Spider-Man game should be “about web-slinging. If you don’t do web-slinging, what is the fantasy of Spider-Man?” So, probably expect a big focus on web-slinging in the next Spider-Man game.
What else to expect is anyone’s guess, but as Multiplayer points out, the name “Shattered Dimensions” might suggest a crossover between Spider-Men other than Peter Parker, like the Scarlet Spider and Spider-Man 2099. It’ll also be interesting to see how the changes in the movie franchise’s schedule will affect Activision’s plans for it’s Spider-Man games. No doubt they would have had a game ready for Spider-Man 4 in 2011, but now that Sony has decided to reboot the franchise with a new movie in 2012, it leaves some open room for what will likely be another original game starring the wall-crawler. We’ll probably find out more soon.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their annual video game awards ceremony last night, and surprise! Uncharted 2: Among Thieves did not take the Best Game award at the end of the night. While Naughty Dog’s action game has racked up a slew of Game of the Year awards, BAFTA instead gave their top honor to Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Oddly enough, though, Uncharted 2 did still win Best Action Game — which Arkham Asylum was also nominated in. Uncharted 2 also won Best Story and Best Original Score, also categories Batman was nominated in. But Batman did win in the Gameplay category, and well, these are games after all.
Other noteworthy awards went to Little Big Planet on the PSP for Best Handheld Game, Left 4 Dead 2 for Multiplayer, and Flower for Artistic Achievement. The full list of winners follows below.

We learned over a year ago that a brand new Pikmin game is on Shigeru Miyamoto’s plate, and now we have more confirmation from the great man himself: According to the Twitter feed of the Official Nintendo Magazine UK (via Joystiq), they were told by Miyamoto at last night’s BAFTA Video Game Awards that development of Pikmin 3 is “well underway.”
Unfortunately it seems that’s all Miyamoto had to say, so details are still nearly non-existent. We’re going to assume this game will be for the Wii (the Wiimote seems such a natural fit for Pikmin’s gameplay that Nintendo already remade the first Pikmin for the Wii), but other than that, it’s anyone’s guess what Pikmin 3 will look or play like — or when it’ll be released. Hopefully Nintendo will have more to show soon, more than likely at E3 in June.
